FAQ

We are very lucky in Santa Barbara to have great weather most of the year; however, we usually recommend dressing in layers. It can get hot in summer/fall; hats are a must—sunscreen too. In winter/spring, a sweatshirt or jacket and a hat usually do the trick.

There are many products available for seasickness. If you aren't sure if you will have a problem, we suggest being prepared ahead of time. Bonine is a great product and does not cause drowsiness. We suggest taking one before bed and one in the morning. (This is not medical advice, just suggestions to help on your trip).

We fish rain or shine. The fish are already wet; they don't mind! If there is severe weather, the captain may make the choice to cancel a trip. Our passenger's comfort & safety are a priority.

Our captains always have several different plans of action for each trip. We evaluate a combination of the conditions and the best available fishing for the day. Although our 3/4-day trips plan on going to the islands, sometimes due to weather or other factors, we simply cannot. In that case, we have many other options to make sure you still have an amazing trip.

We have hot galleys on both boats, serving awesome food! Breakfast burritos, killer burgers, snacks, soda, beer & water.

Food, fish cleaning, fish sacks, gratuity. We do not have credit card capabilities on our boats; therefore, we only accept cash for these items.

We do have a minimum number of reservations required for us to run a trip. We always recommend making reservations no later than 5:30 the evening before a trip. If we do have to cancel, you will be called, and your deposit will be refunded, or you can choose to move it to another day.

Please call Santa Barbara Landing as soon as you know you cannot make a trip. We require a 100% deposit for all reservations.  You must cancel reservations 24 hours prior to departure of your trip, or you will lose your deposit. Reservations cancelled outside of the 24 hours will receive a rain check/credit good for 1 year. Calls to the after-hours number or emails within 24 hours of trip departure will not be accepted. 

We reserve the right to make whatever changes in any given trip that circumstances dictate, including cancellation for under-subscriptions, changes in the itinerary due to weather or other conditions, unavailability of a boat, or substitution of a boat as deemed necessary. Departure times may vary. All prices are subject to change without prior notice.

We offer several types of beer on both boats at an affordable price. You may not bring your own beer/wine/alcohol on any of the boats.

We are a Coast Guard-inspected & certified vessel. We have a zero-tolerance policy on any illegal substance brought on the boat, including marijuana. Our boats are federally regulated, and therefore it is not permitted.
